Endorse Yourself

Endorse Yourself

Endorsing oneself is like giving your self a pat on the back.  If you do this for every you do, (well almost everything).  If you are feeling blue and don't want to get out of bed  just put your feet on you floor knowing that you can always lie back down if you want.  Then endorse yourself for making that small step.  Then if you go back to bed do not blame yourself.  Just keep endorsing for getting your feet on the floor.  If you get up endorse, brrush your teeth, all the small acts you do.  Keep telling yourself that you are doing great especially when you didn't want do anything in the first place

Remember that we spend most of our time thinking negatively about ourseles.  Think of what would happen if do the opposite!

From the wonderful program Recovery Inc.

  • Humor is our best friend, temper is our worst enemy.
  •
  • Have the courage to make a mistake.
  • People do things that annoy us, not necessarily to annoy us.
  •
  • Tempers are frequently uncontrolled, but not uncontrollable.
  • Every act of self-control leads to a sense of self-respect.
  •
  • Temper is an intellectual blindness to the other side of the story.

From "The Course in Miracles"

You don't even have to believe in a God for this one.  Just think of the goal of peace.

The peace of God is my one goal.
The aim of all my living here
The end I seek
My purpose, my function and my life."

What is a miracle?

("The Course in Miracles")

What is a miracle?  A miracle does not create, nor really change at all.  It merely looks on devastation and reminds the mind that what it sees is false.

My interpretation is if you believe that everything eventually works for good you can look at all things as a part of the process.  This changes the mind from thoughts of, "this is horrible, that is evil, why do these horrible things happen?" to, "I don't know why this happened but I know that somehow it is part of a grand process for good"
